Pomatum (hand salve)
(This is almost
identical to our 19th century cold
cream.)
Its consistency is nice and creamy, just like its full name: "Cold Cream, or Pomatum for the Complexion." This is just the thing for dry, chapped hands. (Though its original 18th century use was for the face and hair.)
