To Scent the Hair and Skin
Don't fall into the
stereotype of stinky Medieval people. They liked to
smell good, just as we do! The
12th-century manuscript where we found this recipe tells us, "With this
water let her sprinkle her hair and comb it with a comb dipped in this
same water so that [her hair] will smell better." (It also works well
on skin.)
