Bone-Handled Toothbrush

Tooth brushes have been made out of all sorts of materials. In many cultures and many time periods, people used a stick with the ends pounded or mangled to form bristles.

When the first toothbrushes were made by sticking bristles into a separate handle, all the materials were natural: hog bristles on a bone or bamboo handle, for instance.1

This toothbrush is made of natural bristles in a bone handle.  (Note: the bristles are very stiff. If you like a soft toothbrush, this is not the brush for you.)
